aking art and art quilts is a joyful part of my life. I love
bright and bold colors, and relish in mixing the unusual – both
in design and color. I started sewing as a young girl, making aprons
and mu-mus, eventually graduating to more difficult work. I made a few
quilts throughout the years, but the introduction of Indonesian batiks
led me down an adventurous and productive road. The more I create, the
more imaginative I become, trying to push my limits. Fabrics from
around the world, and those showing great movement, are my favorites. I
like to create pieces ranging from the large bed quilt, to wall
hangings and smaller squares, using some traditional piecing techniques
to create images and patterns beyond the traditional. I want people to
be drawn in to my quilts to explore the possibilities of freedom and
structure within one subject.
